Guria is known for its delicious and aromatic tea production. The Taba brand has been actively restoring historical plantations planted in 1933 in and around the village of Melekeduri for eight years now — and is reviving this tradition.
As part of the Green Guria project, the owner of the Taba brand, Arkady Shetsiri, has created a tea tasting house to introduce visitors to the unique world of tea.
As part of the tour, guests are given the opportunity to fully understand the journey of tea — from plantation to factory and from factory to cup.
Visitors visit the restored plantations planted in 1933 in and around the village of Melekeduri and observe the process of growing and picking tea.
The historical plantations planted in 1933 are being revived today — the Taba brand has been actively restoring them in and around the village of Melekeduri for eight years now.
This long-term work preserves the tea culture and tradition that has characterized the land of Guria for generations.
Visitors can see the factory where seven varieties of “Taba” tea are produced — which are sold both in Georgia and abroad.
A new tourist destination — a tasting space contributes to the popularization of local products and the growth of Guria’s tourism potential.
