More than 100 representatives of the Guria region got acquainted with the European LEADER approach to rural development

Within the framework of the ongoing “Green Guria – Supporting Local Democracy and Rural Development for Inclusive and Resilient Green Growth” project, supported by the European Union, CENN, together with partner organizations, introduced the LEADER approach to rural development to the local population.

About 100 local residents attended the “Rural development with the European LEADER approach” training, which was held for 6 days in the municipalities of Chokhatauri, Lanchkhuti and Ozurgeti. Along with getting acquainted with the European LEADER approaches to rural development, the participants had the opportunity to raise awareness about the role and importance of the involvement of the local population in order to develop local development strategies.

The “Green Guria – Supporting Local Democracy and Rural Development for Inclusive and Resilient Green Growth” project is implemented by CENN in cooperation with partner organisations: the Young Pedagogues’ Union, the Institute of Democracy, and the Local Action Group of KEDA (LAG), supported by the European Union within the European Neighbourhood Program for Rural and Agricultural Development ENPARD IV.
