“Komli” is a Gurian word and means a family living in the countryside. The brand was created in 2019 with the desire to revive the ancestral home in a small village in Guria, to preserve centuries-old knowledge, traditions and a way of life that is gradually disappearing in the modern world.
Today, “Komli” combines a historic house, agriculture, tea culture, local gastronomy and hospitality. This is a space where tourism, education, cultural exchange and rural development become one experience.
The main goal of “Komli” is to reconnect people with nature, culture and real human relationships. Here, a guest is not just a vacationer – he becomes part of the family, village and local life. He can get involved in tea picking and processing, taste local products, get acquainted with Gurian cuisine, village everyday life and traditions.
The uniqueness of Komli is created by the 120-year-old historical Oda House and the 200-year-old history of the family, which still lives on in everyday life. Here, the guest is introduced to the Guria tea culture and the “Tea Road”, a gastronomic experience from farm to table, Guria polyphony and local traditions. The space also hosts volunteer and cultural exchange programs, and its activities are based on environmentally responsible approaches to organic farming and production without chemical pesticides. It is the combination of these elements that creates an experience that allows the guest to not only visit Guria, but also become a part of its history, culture and lifestyle.
