In the middle of the Gomi Forest, on the banks of the Bzhuzhi River, lies “Dumbo Eco Camp” – an ecotourism space created by Lika Dumbadze, where guests will find a peaceful environment, natural beauty and the opportunity to relax. In recent years, the popularity of the camp has increased significantly. As part of the “Green Guria” project, the infrastructure of the eco-camp was renovated and expanded to better meet the growing demand. Two individual wooden cottages were built and the existing semi-roofed kitchen was renovated into a fully functional and equipped kitchen and dining area that meets food safety (HACCP) standards. In addition, a septic system was installed. As a result, “Dumbo Eco Camp” has turned into a full-fledged ecotourism destination.
“Dumbo Eco Camp” can comfortably accommodate 14 guests at a time. A fully equipped kitchen allows the camp to offer guests authentic Gurian cuisine, conduct culinary master classes, and employ local chefs.
A glass-walled veranda opens onto the forest — evening light falls on the wooden walls, slowing down the last hours of the day.
This is where guests gather around a fire and a cup of tea before the forest darkens. The wooden frame and glass walls blur the boundary between the building and the forest — natural light enters the room at any time of the day. As a result of the renovation, Dumbo Eco Camp has turned into a full-fledged ecotourism destination — the wooden buildings stand on the banks of the Gomi Forest and the Bzhuzhi River as if they have always been there.
